Every journey has a beginning, and for Sixteen by Sixty-four Productions, it all started with a dream shared by three friends Keyur Godse, Neeraj Biniwale, and Nipun Dharmadhikari — to tell stories that mattered, and one day, make a film. That dream took its first cinematic shape in the form of a heartfelt Marathi film titled “Baapjanma”.
A Vision That Sparked in an Old Office
It began in a modest office space where conversations about cinema were a daily affair. One evening, Nipun, who is not just a co-founder but also a storyteller at heart, decided to read out a script. What started casually turned into a 90-minute session, as he brought the story to life through his words. When he finished, there was a long pause — not from doubt, but from realization.
In that moment, something reignited in each of them: a shared vision they had buried under everyday work to make a film. Nipun as a director. Keyur and Neeraj as producers. The script was their spark, and from that day on, the journey to bring “Baapjanma” into existence had begun.
Building the Foundation, Brick by Brick
The early days were far from glamorous. There were no investors, no studio backers, and no clear roadmap — just a relentless will to make it happen. The three partners doubled down on work. Days blurred into nights filled with meetings, pitch decks, and learning on the go.
Over two years, they immersed themselves in understanding the industry, the craft, and the logistics of filmmaking. From budgeting to pre-production workflows, every piece of the puzzle was studied and placed. The team focused on building not just a film but a production company with purpose and clarity.
Lights, Camera, “Baapjanma”
When the pieces finally aligned — funds secured, vision solidified — it was time to shoot. The cast was led by none other than Sachin Khedekar, a stalwart of Indian cinema, whose presence lent weight and grace to the project. Alongside him were Satyajit Patwardhan, Sharvari Lohokare, and Aakarsh Khurana, who brought the story alive with raw and rooted performances.
The shoot itself, held over 30 days, went smoothly — a testament to the groundwork laid and the passion everyone brought to the set. Behind the camera, the team had:
- Director of Photography: Abhijit D. Abde
- Costume Design: Sayali Vaidya
- Editor: Suchitra Sathe
- Executive Producer: Keyur Godse
- Music: Gandhaar Sangoram
Produced by Keyur Godse, Amrut Athavale, and Neeraj Biniwale, “Baapjanma” was more than just a first film — it was a milestone born of perseverance, collaboration, and love for storytelling.
From Hard Drives to the Silver Screen
Post-production wrapped, the film was released Pan-India by Everest Entertainment, and later made its way to Amazon Prime Video, where it continues to find new audiences. The response was overwhelming — audience appreciation, critical acclaim, and industry awards reaffirmed the team’s belief in their vision.
But more than anything, it gave them a pat on the back — the kind that says “you’re on the right path”. It gave Sixteen by Sixty-four Productions the courage to make more films, to tell more stories, and to continue building a legacy.
